• TYPE LOCALITY. "Darwaz" [Ghishon-Darya valley above Kalai-Khumb, Darvazsky Mts., Tajikistan]. . RANGE. NE. Afghanistan and the W. Pamirs.
• DISTRIBUTION AND VARIATION. Occurring in the Darvazsky, Vanchsky and Rushansky mts.
• HABITATS AND BIOLOGY. Although very similar in appearance to the spring generation of P. krueperi, this species is rather different ecologically, flying amongst bare rocks at 2,500-3,700 m a.s.1. in July-August in a single generation.
• SIMILAR SPECIES. P. krueperi: wings rounded; UPH terminal black colouration reduced.
